Blend the following ingredients in a blender/food processor:

  • 1 1/2 cups garbanzo beans/chickpeas
  • 1 1/2 tsp tahini
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • 3/4 tsp lemon juice
  • 1/3-1/2 cup milk
  • 1 tsp olive oil

Add:

  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/8 tsp pepper
  • 1/4 tsp cayenne red pepper
  • dash of dried parsley

I like to mix in chopped red bell pepper and spinach for added taste & color. I usually make a double batch (or more) at a time, because Jeff can plow through this recipe in one sitting!
